Los Angeles band Beachwood Sparks play indie rock mixed with country and american psychedelic music. Like crossing the Shins and The Byrds. Their self-titled debut is one of my favourite things ever released on Sub-Pop. The highlight of their second album, Once We Were Trees, is that J. Mascis solos all over two of the songs (Yer Selfish Ways and Jugglers Revenge). On their third and final release (Make The Cowboy Robots Cry EP), Jimmy Tamborello from the Postal Service produces and adds blips and bleeps.
