face to face
























You can't go wrong with a little face to face. I've already posted a couple of the bands more obscure releases, so here is everything else I have. So Why Aren't You Happy was a bonus EP attached to all copies of Ignorance Is Bliss sold at Best Buy stores in the US. This band made a lot of bad choices while they were active (mostly business) but their catalog still holds up today, even the much maligned Ignorance Is Bliss album.

Superchunk - No Pocky For Kitty




This is probably my favourite Superchunk album. The song "Seed Toss" is so good that I could listen to it over and over and never get tired of it.

Hockey Night - Keep Guessin'




One of the last bands signed to Lookout! Records before it went under. Great 90's style indie-rock. Like the Chapel Hill sound mixed with Pavement. Some serious Malkmus worship going on here.

Bloc Party - Two More Years EP




I was going to put this in the comments of the Bloc Party post below, and probably should've, but I thought it needed a post of it's own. 'Two More Years' is one of my favourite Bloc Party songs, and the MSTRKRFT remix of the song on here is awesome too. The Streets mix of 'Banquet' on this thing though is fucking terrible, otherwise this is a great little EP.

This is everything I have from Bloc Party. Everything these guys do is pretty great with the exception of the first 2 songs on Intimacy (Ares, Mercury) which are pretty much some of the worst songs ever written. If anyone has anymore Bloc Party stuff feel free to post it in the comments section

Badtown Boys






Great L.A. punk band from the 90's. On the self titled they sound like a west-coast version of The Ramones, there really is a strong Ramones influence here. Really tight old-school punk sound with great harmonies. For Epidemic they got a little heavier. Gizz Navaro the lead vocalist of Dead Lazlo's Place was the drummer for this band. Get into it.

Samiam





























Great Bay-area melodic punk band. Originally signed to New Red Archives records, they were a Gilman St. mainstay in the late 80's/early 90's. Always a little more rock than punk the band signed to a major label around the same time as Green Day. After they failed to sell millions of records they were dropped by their label and continued to release albums on indie labels (Hopeless and Burning Heart) for another decade. They are still somewhat active, but they rarely tour or play live anymore. Everything they ever did was awesome, even touring with Candlebox.
