This was the bands first album for Matador Records and first as a three-piece after Joel Phelps was forced out of the band. Steve Albini recorded this beast of an album and it sounds absolutely huge. Guitarist Andy Cohen drops some fucking killer solos on this thing, and his guitar work overall is pretty incredible. Tim Midgett's bass throbs and pulses and drummer Michael Dahlquist has just the right amount of flash, fury and restraint. If you like Pavement and Superchunk but wish they sounded a bit more like the Minutemen then jam this.
